A Showcase of Talent and Intellect

The Pre-Pan African Debate Tournament 2 brought together talented young minds from across the region, and our Grade 8 and 9 learners competed in Category One, excelling in a range of intellectually engaging activities, including:

  • Debate: Tackling complex topics with sharp reasoning and persuasive arguments.
  • Storytelling: Captivating audiences with creative and compelling narratives.
  • Public Speaking: Delivering powerful speeches with poise and clarity.
  • Spelling Bee: Demonstrating linguistic precision and quick thinking.

Our learnersโ€™ performances were a testament to their preparation, passion, and the robust training provided by our Debate Club patrons and facilitators. Their participation aligned seamlessly with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBE), which emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and self-efficacy, equipping students with skills to thrive in academic and real-world settings.

Outstanding Achievements

Our Debate Club Champions secured remarkable accolades, highlighting their exceptional talent and teamwork:

  • Storytelling: Two participants ranked among the Top 10 in their category, captivating judges with their narrative flair.
  • Public Speaking: Our champion speaker earned a spot among the Top 10 Public Speakers, delivering a speech that resonated with impact and confidence.
  • Debate Awards:
    • Wisdom Cup: Second Runners-Up, showcasing insightful arguments and strategic thinking.
    • Future Leaders Cup: Winners, proving their potential to lead with vision and eloquence.
    • Rhetoric Cup: First Runners-Up, demonstrating mastery of persuasive communication.

These achievements reflect the dedication of our learners and the nurturing environment at Dreams Hill School, where we foster both academic and extracurricular excellence.

Voices That Inspire

The tournament was a platform for our learners to shine, and their courage to speak out left a lasting impression. One participant shared, โ€œBeing part of the debate team and winning the Future Leaders Cup made me realize how powerful my voice can be!โ€ This sentiment captures the transformative impact of the Debate Club, which empowers students to articulate their ideas with confidence and conviction.

Parents and peers celebrated the teamโ€™s success, with one parent noting, โ€œWatching our children excel in such a competitive setting fills me with pride. Dreams Hill School is truly shaping future leaders.โ€ The event was beautifully captured by our Dreams Hill Journalism Club, whose photos will be shared on our website and social media platforms, preserving these proud moments for our community.

Gratitude and Support

We extend heartfelt gratitude to our patrons, facilitators, and school administration, led by Principal Mr. Maburi and Chairman Mr. Philemon Ronoh, for their unwavering support. Their guidance has been instrumental in preparing our learners for success, from rigorous practice sessions to fostering a culture of excellence. This achievement builds on our schoolโ€™s legacy of outstanding performances, such as Position 2 Countrywide in the 2024 Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge and Mercy Jepkosgei Chirchirโ€™s Position 3 in the 2024 Art Category Competition.

The Debate Clubโ€™s success also complements our recent initiatives, like the Grade 9 KJSEA Career Pathways Session and the Term 1 Closing Day Celebration, which highlight our commitment to holistic development. By nurturing skills like public speaking and critical thinking, we are preparing our learners to excel in the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) and beyond.

A Bright Future Ahead

Set against the scenic savanna backdrop of the Chemelil Area, Dreams Hill School provides an inspiring environment for learners to grow and shine.
