Stellar Achievements at Regionals
Our Chess Club members demonstrated remarkable skill and brilliance, achieving impressive results:
- Ian Kimutai: 1st Place in the Boys Category, showcasing masterful strategy.
- Blessing Jerutich: 2nd Place in the Girls Category, displaying sharp intellect and focus.
- Over 60 Qualifiers: Out of 74 participants, more than 60 learners qualified for the National Competitions, a testament to their collective talent and preparation.
These accomplishments align with the Competency-Based Education (CBE) system’s emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, and resilience, equipping our learners with skills that extend beyond the chessboard to academic milestones like the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA). One learner shared, “Winning at regionals felt amazing! Chess teaches me to think ahead and stay calm.”
Honoring Our Dedicated Patrons and Coach
A heartfelt appreciation goes to our Chess Club Patrons—Mr. Danson Billy, Madam Emmanuella, and Mr. Yano—and their outstanding Coach, whose guidance and mentorship have been pivotal in shaping our learners into strategic thinkers and confident competitors. Their dedication has fueled the club’s success, building on their preparation for events like the Regional Chess Qualifiers and complementing our holistic approach to education.
Parents celebrated the achievement, with one noting, “Seeing my child qualify for nationals is incredible. Dreams Hill School nurtures true champions!” The Dreams Hill Journalism Club captured the intensity and pride of the qualifiers through photos, which will be shared on our website and social media platforms, inviting our community to celebrate this milestone.

Set against the scenic savanna backdrop of the Chemelil Area, Dreams Hill School provided a proud send-off for our Chess Club as they competed in Nakuru City. This triumph complements our recent successes, such as the County Music & Drama Festival and Karate Club Grading, highlighting our commitment to fostering excellence across diverse domains. As our learners prepare for the National Competitions, we are confident they will continue to shine with strategic brilliance.
